CADS National and CADS-NS offer a bottom up approach to certification programs, touching each competency and ensuring ways for instructors to offer value at each skill level. Our programs help to develop a rich set of instruction skills in each member at a pace that reflects the participants' lifestyle and involvement.

Are you thinking of becoming a CADS Certified Instructor?
Help support and include students and participants of all abilities on the hill. There are two instruction pathways to follow. The Ski Certification pathway or the Snowboard Certification pathway. The crossover certifications allow instructors to utilize both platforms.

CADS Level 1
The CADS Ski Level 1 or Snowboard Level 1 complete certification is for candidates interested in learning how to teach students across all four disciplines – ASD/CI, VI, Sitski and 3-4 Track/Outriggers. Candidates will learn tools and skills to safely and competently teach students of all abilities at a beginner level.

CADS Level 2
The CADS Ski Level 2 or Snowboard Level 2 complete certification is for instructors interested in improving their knowledge and skills to teach students across all four disciplines – ASD/CI, VI, Sitski and 3-4 Track/Outriggers. Candidates will learn tools and skills to safely and competently teach students of all abilities to move beyond a beginner level.

CADS Level 3
The CADS Ski Level 3 certification is for candidates interested in learning how to teach students across three disciplines –VI, Sitski and 3-4 Track. Candidates must demonstrate an intermediate level of skiing ability and how to teach a lesson to a variety of students at an intermediate level. The candidate will demonstrate a strong knowledge of The Technical Reference, The Gliding Experience and The Learning Contract within their lesson.

CADS Level 4
The CADS Ski level 4 certification involves a rigorous program of evaluation. The role of a level 4 is to train and evaluate instructors at most levels including CADS level 3 and Course conductors and to work closely with the CADS TC to advise on technical matters.
